hi all, i was fortunate enough to sight a strange object for myself on bonfire night, not quite an intergalactic mothership (damn didn't have my camcorder!) but a sighting nevertheless, whilst enjoying some of our fine welsh weather during a BBQ and firework display around 7.30 pm i clocked what appeared to be a glowing orange ball drifting over the trinant/oakdale area (gwent) and heading out towards swffryd, i could not accurately discern the size or altitude of the object as it was around 5 miles away, i am almost certain it was one of our old fiends the chinese lantern but not so sure they would appear so large and as bright as this one did from the distance i saw it? which leads me to a question, well more of a pondering thought really, there have been at least 300 similar sightings this year throughout the UK of orange lights on their own or in groups/formations and no doubt a lot of them have mundane down to earth explanations like the chinese lantern but surely not all, as the media would have us believe, why all of a sudden for god knows how many years these lanterns have been around, why would there be a massive influx of them to the uk in the last 18 months? there are larger chinese communities (not that they are solely reserved for the chinese) around the globe with out every celebration or general amusement heralding in another alien invasion!, so putting on my conspiracy hat for a moment, what if some, i don't know lets say a government sponsored agency or firm was behind the popularising of these lanterns, ensuring that they were readily available in huge quantities at cheap prices so any tom, dick and zeta reticulan could play at war of the worlds, wouldn't that just be a convenient way of dismissing and hiding a genuine sighting of possible ET or secret military hardware, whilst in the process allowing the tabloid media to damage the last few credible individuals and groups who research this kind of thing and putting another nail in the coffin lid of ufology, i might be flogging a dead grey on this one, but it would be interesting to here someone elses views,
right im off to find me one of them intergalactic motherships i keep hearing about!

To be honest it looks like a conventional aircraft on final approach, even to the landing light, but then it darts off screen rather rapidly. So, I don't know whether it's worth getting excited over or not, but suspect the latter. Any thoughts?
