5.0 Earthquake Shakes Southwest China

David Goodhue - AHN ReporterSichuan, China (AHN) - A magnitude 5.0 earthquake is being blamed for one death and 11 injuries in China's Sichuan Province Sunday morning. The quake also caused the collapse of more than 100 houses, China's state news organization Xinhua reported.
The quake happened at about 5:30 a.m. local time. It reportedly caused about $4.4 million in damages.
Sichuan is located in the southwestern portion of China. The area was struck by a magnitude 8 earthquake on May 12, 2008 that killed at least 87,000 people, according to the BBC.

Sometimes I think we in UK don't always realise just how lucky we are when it comes to earthquakes. The odd deep rumble, loosened chimney pots and very minor tile damage is about all we get. But, who knows what may be coming our way sooner or later. The Chinese and many others seem to go through hell at regular intervals...

I know exactly how you feel Mike, I was just talking with Hitler about that today. We are very lucky. So far nothing major here in NY but you never know...thing's are very strange lately as we all know!
